A native of Harlem, New York, and proud alumnus of the Ice Hockey in Harlem organization, Jabari K. Scutchins brings over a decade of experience elevating independent school athletic programs and cultivating purpose driven student-centered cultures. From Harlem to Hamilton-Wenham, he has spent the last ten years building meaningful athletic experiences for students and coaches alike.
Jabari’s professional journey is rooted in a family legacy that spans theater, hospitality, education, and healthcare—fields that have shaped his approach to communication, adaptability, and leadership. He is known for blending transparency, humor, and vision to inspire those around him. His proudest work includes launching captain development programs, designing athlete-specific learning models, and forging partnerships between schools and colleges to support the next generation of athletic professionals.
Beyond the field, Jabari is a mentor, connector, and advocate for values-driven leadership. He believes He believes that true leadership is rooted in empowerment and sport is the precise vehicle to transform lives, foster identity, and build resilience.
A devoted father and family man, Jabari enjoys plant parenting, a top notch chicken cutlet sub, experimenting in the kitchen, and sporting his favorite custom Turkish shoes from Sabah. He holds a Bachelor of Science in International Studies and Foreign Relations from Utica College of Syracuse University and has completed leadership certifications through Cornell University.
